Should Manchester United win the league title at the Etihad Stadium on April 30th, don’t expect them to hoist the trophy.
According to The Premier League:
There are no plans for there to be a trophy presentation on April 30, should the title race be decided. The preference is always to present the trophy at a home game.
Such, however, has not always been the case.
United were presented with the league trophy at both the Riverside Stadium and Goodison Park.
So why wouldn’t it happen at The Etihad then? It’s it because City and United are bitter rivals and their supporters would inevitable clash?
Basically, yes.
As seen in the video below, in recent years there have been several violent incidents around the stadium when the two teams have played.
