Accordingly to an article in The Daily Mail, legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson says that Bulgarian sensation, Dimitar Berbatov, will be sold this summer.
“We will be taking up the option on his contract but, having had chats with him, I understand he wants to get first-team football. It is something we need to consider at the end of the season. For a player of his age and his ability it is disappointing for him that he is not getting first-team football. We will look at the end of the season but until then, he remains at United.”
Given that United have an embarrassment of riches at the striker position, including the likes of Rooney, Hernandez, and youngster Welbeck, Ferguson’s comments can’t come as much of a surprise to United supporters.
Berbatov, who costs the team £30.75million just a few years back, will likely be sold at a tremendous lost given the fact that he hasn’t featured much at all this year.
Although Berbatov seemed lazy at times, he served Manchester United well and will forever be remember for his outstanding ability to control the ball, as demonstrated in this video.
