According to The Guardian, Sir Alex Ferguson says he wants to stay on in an ambassadorial role, similar to that of Sir Bobby Charlton, at Old Trafford when he eventually quits as manager.

The United icon says he has at least two more seasons at the helm of United and strongly imagines that he’ll be able to contribute further once he steps down from his current role.

“I will remain active. I think there will be a role for me at United after I finish,” the 70-year-old Scot told BBC Radio 5 Live in an interview.

“I think you always want to go out on a winning note. Hopefully we can do that. I don’t know how long I can last now but if my health stays up I don’t think another two or three years would harm me,” the Glasgow native added.

Ferguson finished the interview by stating that his wife has urged him to carry on working as a milkman once he steps down as manager.

Speculation on which milk company would hire the knighted soccer legend oddly remains low.
