Manchester United lose to Wigan

Just a few days ago, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, said of the ever-experienced Manchester United with regards to winning the title:

“Once the team ‘smelt the stable’, it’s difficult for them to drop points. In French, you say when a horse smells its stable, it’s difficult to stop them.”

It would seem as though the horse has been distracted.

Terribly, terribly distracted…

Manchester United regrettably put in a lacklustre performance today as they lost away to Wigan by one goal to nil.

The reigning English champions didn’t lose to Arsenal, Manchester City, or even Chelsea.

They lost to Wigan: a ragtag group of EPL bottom-feeders (No offence to Wigan fans).

Ugh…

With Manchester City picking up the maximum number of points today against West Bromwich, it would appear as though the title race is very much alive and well.

A mere five points now separates United from City with five games still remaining.

It should be noted, the two squads have yet to play each other on City’s turf.

For the neutral supporter,  today’s results probably will prove to be rather interesting. But for United fans across the globe, this outcome is enough to send us to the floor in the fetal position, sucking our thumbs in worry… I mean, ’cause serious concern.’

Will United be able to regain their composure and bring the title back to the red half of Manchester?

Only time will tell.
