Will Manchester City crumble under the pressure?

Supporters of Manchester United were devastated yesterday as their local rivals pulled the double on the Reds, beating them 1-0 at The Etihad.

Currently on points, the two teams sit level.

However, should both teams win their remaining two games, City will claim their first title since 1968 on goal differential.

With City still having to play Newcastle United away, it would seems as though celebrations are a bit premature.

Not only was Sir Alex Ferguson the butt of Roberto Mancini’s jokes, but former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher thought it wise to  gatecrash City’s post-game press conference.

Manchester City would do well to halt celebrations and keep their collective focus.

Their run in is anything but straightforward.

Newcastle United has had the best form in the league for the last few months. With Newcastle sitting even with Tottenham on points, they will do everything in their power to edge City, least they want to keep their Champions League ambitions alive.

After the away game at Newcastle, City will then face Queen’s Park Rangers.

QPR currently sit even on points with Bolton Wanders at the bottom of the table. Should QPR not want to get regulated this season, they’ll have to pull out a result away at The Etihad.

Conversely, Manchester United play Swansea and Sunderland.

Both teams sit mid-table with nothing to gain and nothing to lose.

Don’t think it impossible for that grey cloud to lift over Old Trafford just yet.
