Roberto Mancini has forty million new reasons to smile.
That’s right, Manchester City have locked up the Italian manager until 2017 for an estimated $40 million (CDN).
Even though dealing with the likes of Balotelli and Tevez has no doubt aged him significantly, the Italian seems thrilled at the prospect of staying on at the club.
“I am delighted to be able to give all of my efforts to Manchester City for a further five years, ” Mancini said. “The opportunity that exists to build on our recent success is enormous… I am very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
Mancini oversaw City’s Premier League victory last season, winning the title in a stunning fashion on the final day.
It was City’s first league title in 44 years.
